Almost everyday at work I want to pull my hair out because these high schoolers I work with have no sense of problem solving or thinking beyond what is written out on the to-do-list. Or thinking about consequences to there actions, arg it drives me crazy just thinking about it.
I think it is this lack of the basic kind of creativity, you know like thinking for yourself, that makes me hate my job. Really the work I don't mind, sure the rushes suck but the people, it's them that suck the hope and satisfaction from the job. The assistant manager has, on several occasions, said things that make me assume she believes anything that is hard or requires any work isn't worth doing. grumble grumble. she is my age, has three kids and an unhappy marriage. (go figure)
